Downtown Hidden Gems

We invite you to come explore our Downtown District, where you will likely stumble upon some hidden gems. Something about discovering unexpected projects will make you appreciate how unique our community truly is. Leduc has a large community of creative members and we proudly showcase their talents to add vibrancy to the area. With spring days ahead, make a day of the warmer weather and connect with a friend or family member to seek out these gems!

Community

Public library

A homemade outdoor library box in the neighborhood is such an unexpected find, showcasing how our district promotes community. The concept of take a book, share a book, or even a surprise for the next user is a fulfilling interaction for children and adults. It's a rewarding feeling being able to share your interest and connect with your neighbors.

Here’s a hint: To find this gem you’ll have to take turn off Mainstreet towards the train tracks heading south!

Experience local artists

Leduc Art Club feature wall

Here is that local creative talent we hinted at!

Our Downtown business Leduc Wall Fashions collaborated with the Leduc Arts Club to create this lively mural on Mainstreet found just outside their store.

PS: Don’t forget to snap a picture for your social media against these beautiful wings designed by Breanne Debski.

Museums that honour our history

Leduc Dr Woods House Museum

Take a glimpse into the 1920’s on a tour at the Dr.Woods House Museum found just off Mainstreet. Dr Robert Woods was one of the area's first doctors and built this beautiful home with an attached medical wing. This charming craftsman style house was restored and perfectly displays artifacts and belongings from the families it housed. Book a tour by calling 780 986 1517 to take a walk through Leduc’s historical heritage with a guide who knows all its quirks.

Leduc Grain Elevator

You might’ve noticed the tallest building in our city…

The Leduc Heritage Grain Elevator, is a registered historical site thanks to the Alberta Legacy Development Society. Volunteers have dedicate their time to developing the elevator for future generations to experience and we appreciate their goal to educate, and honour our history. Stop by for a tour if you want to witness one of the last single composite wood crib grain elevators left in Alberta!

Create & Connect

Downtown Leduc Instruments

Music is the universal language and from experience, it does a great job of bringing people together. Our mission is for our downtown to be a place for residents to work, live and hang out. Placing these instruments along Mainstreet has been a great addition to creating a fun, lively experience. Show off your skills next time you walk by and you may just gain a memorable connection with those around you.
